Great. My brand new Acer laptop won’t hibernate because it has over 1gb of RAM. The message I receive from Windows XP Pro SP2 when trying to hibernate is: “Insufficient System Resources Exist to Complete the API”. After only a second or so of Googling that specific text, I found many blogs which mentioned and commented upon the issue. It seems that this is not related to any one laptop or manufacturer, but a bug (surprise, surprise) in Windows XP. SP2 does not fix this issue, and the hotfix is vaguely mentioned but not offered for download via the following link:
Basically, you’re gonna have to call Microsoft and wade through the support lines to get the link/e-mailed hotfix. Fun stuff.
