A quote, to begin:

Dear Mr. Vernon,
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you’re crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us, in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out, is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basketcase, a princess, and a criminal. Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club.

Mike has put that quote on more CD mixes (MP3 mixes, sorry, I’m dating myself. Heh.) than I can count, and for good reason. This is us. In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions, we are each elements of eachother, those who are capable of amazing things when we put our minds together to accomplish a common goal.

We’re finally living the lives we set out to accomplish years ago when the future seemed too vague and frightening to properly imagine. To those with me, I implore you to look upon the days of moans and groans about the daily grind and the distance of our aspirations while sipping coffee at whatever Sharis we decided to call home for the night. Now, I implore you to look at where we are now. Lovers, fighters, drama kings and queens, beautifully flawed – yet finally living the dream.

It is our respective weaknesses that have made us strong, and to quote one of my favorite characters – “we’ve done the impossible, and that makes us mighty.”

Mighty we are indeed. Allow me this chance to toast you all – you know who you are – those who seek the pinnacle of the human experience.

We are all a brain, and an athlete, and a basketcase, a princess, and a criminal.

…Does that answer your question? 😉
