PORTLAND, Ore. – A small earthquake rattled the Portland area Sunday evening.

The earthquake, which registered a preliminary 2.6 magnitude, happened at 9:34 p.m. The epicenter was near Southeast 18th and Belmont.

Because the magnitude was less than 3.0, it was classified as a micro earthquake.

  • Magnitude 4 – 4.9 = Light
  • Magnitude 5 – 5.9 = Moderate
